Betting Action Triggered by Simon Cowell Baby

X Factor mogul, Simon Cowell, was reportedly stunned with the news that his married mistress, Lauren Silverman, is expecting his first child.  Lauren is the ex wife of Andrew Silverman, who is one of Cowell’s best friends.

Simon Cowell has dated many women in his 50 years and was once quoted as saying that he does not want babies in the same way as he would not want a puppy as it is too much responsibility.

The news that Lauren is 10 weeks pregnant has resulted in betting markets mushrooming overnight at bookmaker sites in the UK.

Irish betting group, Paddy Power, and Ladbrokes are offering odds on the name and sex of the baby and punters at both groups appear to favor the name Simon.

The odds on the Cowell baby’s name at Paddy Power is as follows –

• Simon 5/1
• Lauren 12/1
• Eric, Jake, Xander, George 20/1
• Tulisa, Terr, Osbourne, Danni 100/1
• Jedward 250/1

It is not yet known what the sex of the new baby is as Lauren Silverman is only 10 weeks pregnant.  Meanwhile, punters at leading bookmaking sites are left speculating and odds are presently 5/6 for male and female.

Bookmakers are also offering odds on a multiple birth for Simon and Lauren as follows –

• Twins 66/1
• Triplets 200/1
• Quads 500/1

It has been reported that Simon Cowell has recently joined friends in the South of France where he will be joined by a few of his ex-girlfriends.
