IGT Renews Video Poker Deal With Action Gaming

International Game Technology (IGT), one of the leading gaming products designers and manufacturer has renewed its video poker deal with Action Gaming, the casino games firm. As part of the deal IGT will continue to jointly develop multi-hand video poker games for both the land-based and online casino market. IGT has purchased patents for All-Star Poker, Hyper Bonus Poker, and Ultimate X Poker from Action Gaming. The patents are also being used to create new video poker themes. While the deal is subject to regulatory and other approvals, the acquisition is likely to be completed in March 2014.

According to Joe Sigrist, vice-president of game development and global product management at IGT, the new agreement boosts the company’s ability to create and develop first class content for casinos and the social environment for IGT’s DoubleDown Casino. Owner of Action Gaming, Ernie Moody was also confident that the sale of the patents would reaffirm its position as a leader in the video poker market in the foreseeable future. Moody said the company was proud of creative high revenue producing games. Triple Play Draw Poker and Super Times Pay Poker are some of the exciting multi-hand video poker games from IGT where players can enjoy playing multiple hands of video poker.

GSN Games Acquires Bash Gaming

In other news, cross platform entertainment provider GSN Games sealed a deal to acquire the social and mobile casino games developer, Bash Gaming. The acquisition will enable GSN to own two of last year’s top 10 overall grossing iPad applications. This includes the social bingo title Bingo Bash that attracts a monthly user base of over 4.8 million players. GSN Games’ multi-platform network will allow Bash Gaming to expand its offering and reach out to new players. It will allow for the integration of advanced user acquisition and analytical techniques.

GSN Games is all set to leverage Bash Gaming’s multi-player technology to further develop its skill games platform and create a unique bingo experience for players of all types. GSN Games’ executive vice president of mobile and social gaming, Jeff Karp, said the deal will not only strengthen the company’s portfolio but is also in line with their strategy to diversify their business and operate across all major platforms. Karp said the company will be in a position to add a broad range of titles for both social casino and skill tournaments arena. The company seeks to leverage the talent, reach and technology from both organizations in a bid establish itself as a gaming powerhouse.
